Life Choice: To Tell the Truth?2/10/2018 In What You Don't Know, Lulu Wang writes about a time when her family lies to her grandmother.
Did you agree with the family's choice to deceive Wang's grandmother? I agree with the family's choice to deceive Wang's grandmother. Although they kept medical information away from Wang's grandmother they kept her happy by making sure she doesn't know information that would upset or worry her. Lulu Wang said that they didn't expect her grandmother to live for much longer because she had cancer. If they had told her grandmother she was going to die, she would have spent the next couple months worried about when she will get worse. Since they didn't tell her, her grandmother she wasn't worried about when she will get worse or anything. So I agree with their family's choice to deceive by not telling Wang's grandmother about her medical information. When have you made an important choice to tell someone a difficult truth or you made an important choice to tell a lie that had a major impact on you and/or someone else?

Your argumentative response provides a clear position. Can we say for sure the grandmother would have worried? If so, how does "worrying" impact the decision to lie?
